Lomond School is an HMC, co-educational day and boarding school located in the town of Helensburgh on the banks of the river Clyde and on the edge of the Loch Lomond National Park. The school is only 30 minutes’ drive from Glasgow and excellent rail transport links exist. Around 420 pupils attend the school, including up to 60 boarders. The Senior School, boarding house, sports hall and Junior School have all been constructed within the past 15 years. During 2014, bespoke departments were built for Health and Food Technology as well as Drama.
The school delivers consistently high academic results and the stunning location lends itself to a broad range of extra-curricular activities. Lomond School strives to be an excellent employer enjoying a relatively flat management structure and open lines of communication with staff. The environment is less formal than many city-based schools and every employee is treated as an individual. Teaching salaries are above those offered by the maintained sector and all classroom teaching staff will be eligible to join the Scottish Teachers' Superannuation Scheme. Members of staff will qualify for fee remission, which is means-tested.
All members of the teaching staff are required to be GTC registered and all staff will require to be PVG registered in line with best practice. The school always seeks two references, one of which must be from a former employer. The school firmly believes in offering equal opportunity to all.

Boarding House Tutor Opportunities
Lomond School has a number of vacancies for Volunteer Resident Tutors in its boarding house. These posts are unsalaried but provide rent free accommodation throughout the year and meals during term time. Previous occupants of the positions have been PGDE or Post Graduate students in Glasgow or individuals seeking to gain volunteer experience with young people before applying for these courses or other occupations working with young people. Successful applicants will be required to apply for and receive PVG scheme membership as you will be working in a regulated environment. This will become your personal PVG scheme membership record and, as such, we will ask you to pay for this. The current cost of this is £59.
For an informal discussion about these roles please contact the Pastoral Depute Head, Mr Alister Minnis at email@example.com or by phoning 01436 672476. More information is also available by clicking here.
