A supportive boarding environment

The house is managed by the Pastoral Depute, Mr Alister Minnis. Currently the houseparents are Mr and Mrs Cameron. David Cameron teaches PSHE and Angela Cameron Biology. Their work is supported by a team of resident tutors and non-resident matrons. All staff have been checked with the PVG Scheme and the pastoral care provided in the house is inspected regularly by the Care Inspectorate. All staff undergo regular training and appraisal.

Medical support is provided by the School Nurse, Mrs Serpell in addition, pupils are registered with a local medical practice and dental practice. The school doctors hold surgeries for boarders twice a week in Burnbrae.

Academic support is provided by subject specialists during prep time. Pupils are able to sign up for extra support in Science, English, Mathematics and Languages. The Head of Learning Support also provides extra help on a weekly basis for younger boarders.
