Boarding School, Scotland - Lomond School

Eco schools

Pupils at Lomond take their environment and the issues of wider environmental responsibility very seriously. This starts at an early age with initiatives from the Nursery, through the Junior School and right up through the Senior School. Each part of the school has its own Eco Committees and have implemented recycling schemes for paper and plastic, energy minimisation, litter reduction, improvements to the health and wellbeing of all pupils and better awareness amongst all at the school. There is an annual Eco-Schools Action Plan that is developed, implemented and monitored by the Eco Committees and this includes staff-pupil initiatives such as the Heart-Start campaign. The grounds of the school are part of this environmental work and offer a wide range of opportunities for development whilst the pupils are able to take responsible ownership of their surroundings.
