We offer a rich programme of over 50 extra-curricular activities from outdoor pursuits, hill running and the Duke of Edinburgh award to the Traditional Music Group, reading and art groups, Chess and Science Club and Young Engineers, to mention just a few.
These activities take place at lunchtime, after school and at weekends. All pupils are strongly encouraged to participate and to take on responsibility in the activities. We recognise the value of involvement for enjoyment, socialising, widening of interests and skills and personal development. An innovative Personal Development Framework has been developed to maximise the benefits of extra-curricular activities.
A wide range of trips and expeditions are offered each year. Recent and planned trips include canoeing expeditions to Norway and Sweden, expeditions in Scotland and abroad, trekking in Morocco, rugby and hockey tours to South Africa, cultural trips to Paris and Berlin and many other academic trips. The annual pattern typically sees up to a dozen trips a year catering for a variety of ages and interests.
