Marketing Manager

We are now looking for an experienced Marketing Manager to be responsible for all our promotional activities and brand communications. Reporting directly to the Principal, this is a diverse role working closely with the marketing team as well as the Registrar and Senior Leadership Team. You will be required to plan and implement our overall marketing strategy, which includes advertising campaigns, social media activity, website development, events, alumni activities, PR, research, as well as be involved in the production of various marketing materials. An important aspect will be maintaining the high quality and consistency of all our marketing communications in line with established brand guidelines and set budgets.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone with the requisite skills to join a small, friendly team and make an important contribution to the ongoing success of the school. You will be expected to uphold and promote the ethos and values of Lomond School, and work proactively and collaboratively to ensure effective marketing of the school is delivered to both internal and external clients.

We’re looking for someone educated to a minimum of SQA Higher level (or equivalent) with sound marketing experience, ideally in an education environment, and an appreciation for strong brand communications.  This role is about being proactive and using your initiative when opportunities arise. Good organisational and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to interact well with children. RYA Senior Sailing Instructor

We are now looking for an RYA Senior Sailing Instructor to help support the delivery of the sailing curriculum and extracurricular activities. This is an important part of the school’s heritage and identity, having had a number of former pupils representing Team GB at recent Olympics. The sailing programme has been built up over the past 7 years and provides opportunities for pupils of all ability levels to get out on the water – whether this is for the first time, getting an endorphin boosting buzz from sailing their own boat, honing their racing skills or for research projects as part of the senior phase. Adventure is one of our Guiding Principles and sailing is a very important aspect of this department.

Your duties will be varied from running high quality training sessions and managing associated admin to supporting all communication with parents and other agencies. This part of your role is very customer-focused and requires empathy and attention to detail.
This is an outstanding opportunity for someone with the requisite skills to join a small, friendly team and make an important contribution to the ongoing success of the school. You will be expected to uphold and promote the ethos and values of Lomond School, and once you have learned the basics, step up with confidence when your managers are unavailable.

Driver - AM

We are seeking to appoint an experienced Driver (14 hours/week) during term-time only.  Additional hours may be available.

This role will provide the safe transport service of the pupils, using school minibuses, either to or from the school.  Hours of work will be 6:45am – 9:00am Monday to Friday. Every 2 weeks there will be a Friday afternoon journey to the Oban area (14:45 – 20:00).

Additionally, the role will provide a cleaning and refuelling of the minibus.

Your core responsibilities will be:

  • The safe transport of pupils to and from school.
  • The cleanliness and basic housekeeping of the bus i.e. fuel levels, oil, tyre pressure etc.

You must have a clean, current, full driving licence with D1 entitlement to drive a minibus.

You should also have the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and pupils.

Any offer of employment will be subject to receiving a satisfactory Scheme Record through the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme.

Salary:  £6593.78 per annum

Boarding House Tutors

Lomond School has a number of vacancies for Volunteer Resident Tutors in its boarding house. These posts are unsalaried but provide rent free accommodation throughout the year and meals during term time. Previous occupants of the positions have been PGDE or Post Graduate students in Glasgow or individuals seeking to gain volunteer experience with young people before applying for these courses or other occupations working with young people. Successful applicants will be required to apply for and receive PVG scheme membership as you will be working in a regulated environment. This will become your personal PVG scheme membership record and, as such, we will ask you to pay for this. The current cost of this is £59.
