As a top boarding school in Scotland, living and studying at Lomond School offers a truly unique experience for boys and girls from the UK and around the world.

Living at Lomond School as a boarder is an enriching experience that we truly believe provides a ‘home away from home’. With up to 60 boarders at any one time, Burnbrae House is small enough to truly provide a family feel and being home to boys and girls provides a unique opportunity for siblings to live together under one roof. With a balance of both international and UK boarders, our pupils thrive in a truly international environment.

We have a long history of welcoming pupils from across Scotland and the rest of the UK on a flexible, weekly and full time basis. For our boarders who are close enough to return home at the weekend, Helensburgh has excellent transport links with direct trains to Glasgow, Edinburgh and the West Highlands. We also provide a weekly school bus to Oban, with stops en route.

Lomond School pupils benefit from a rich and varied curriculum which ensures our young people are encouraged to love learning and are challenged and inspired throughout their school career. The curriculum is enhanced with fantastic opportunities for outdoor learning, creative arts and sport. Wherever your child’s strengths and interests lie, our staff will support their growth and development at an individual level.

At Lomond School we look to the future, and our curriculum is no exception with an aim to ensure that every young person in our school has a curriculum pathway that prepares them for life and best meets their needs. With this in mind, our Senior 5 and 6 pupils (sixth form) have the choice of two International Baccalaureate (IB) Programmes – the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) and the IB Career-related Programme (IBCP) – as well as our existing SQA courses.

Our Registrar, Jonathan Hewat, will be happy to discuss individual circumstances and arrange an individual tour of the school.
