Junior 5 Burns Supper

Fair fa’ your honest, sonsie face
Great chieftain o the puddin’ race!

The finale to the Junior School’s Scottish Week on Friday evening was the Junior 5 Burns Supper and what a night it was! The children, their parents and invited guests enjoyed a 3 course meal of lentil soup, haggis, neeps and tatties and shortbread cranachan; the starter and dessert having been prepared in HFT lessons with Mrs Harwood.

The J5 children also did the room set up, created the menus and provided the entertainment which included music and poetry recitals.

The Address to a Haggis was from Mr Grafton while Mr Urquhart provided The Toast to the Lassies, Mrs Cummings replied on behalf of the Lassies and Mrs Lawn said the Selkirk Grace. Alastair M. in S3 did us the honour of piping in the haggis.

A very special thanks to Ms Lane and the Inspire Catering team and all involved in this fantastic Burns Supper!
