Raising Children with Confidence Course

Event Details

  • Date:
  • Venue: Lomond School
We all want our children to grow up happy, confident, secure and able to cope with life’s challenges. Some children manage this better than others.  Ever wondered why this is? In partnership with Edinburgh City Council’s Building Confidence team, Lomond School is delighted to be offering a free 5 week course which gives parents and carers the chance to explore emotional wellbeing and how to best promote confidence in themselves and their children. The course draws on the latest findings and research in the field and helps explain why what you do makes such a difference.

Learning about Health and Wellbeing ensures that children and young people develop the knowledge and understanding, skills, capabilities and attributes which they need for mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing now and in the future. This initiative runs in parallel with the Building Resilience programme which has been adopted in the Junior School at Lomond School. Both programmes provide practical strategies to support children and young people and their parents, when they are faced with difficulties, frustrations and challenging times, thus helping children and young people to function well, academically and in life.

This is a public course open to parents of Lomond School and members of the local community.

Dates for the course are below and sessions will be held at Lomond School, 10 Stafford Street, Helensburgh, G84 9JX.
