Lomond Pupil wins Internet Safety Competition

The winners of an annual poster competition to promote internet safety among Helensburgh and Lomond’s young people have been presented with their prizes. The award ceremony was the culmination of the annual initiative run by Police Scotland, the Ministry of Defence Police and Helensburgh Garelochside Rotary, which this year had the title of ‘Permission Mission’.

Iona R’s (T1) entry beat off stiff competition with more than 500 poster designs entered by pupils from all 12 of the area’s primary schools, all judged by an art teacher and a primary computer specialist from West Dunbartonshire.

The top three entries were displayed on pop-up banners at the Helensburgh and Lomond Civic Centre, and will also feature on Police Scotland’s Facebook and Twitter channels.
