Armed Forces Families

At Lomond School we are committed to providing the very best educational support and pastoral care for our Armed Forces pupils.

Situated close to Faslane Naval Base in Helensburgh, Lomond School teachers, staff and pupils are well accustomed to welcoming Armed Forces families throughout the year. Our highly experienced Pastoral team recognise the challenges which face our Service children, as well as the many qualities they bring to our school community.

Lomond School is in a position to offer Service children a stable and supportive education and home environment in our co-educational boarding house, Burnbrae. Here, children from age 8 (Junior 5) and above enjoy living in a modern, purpose-built boarding house with access to fantastic facilities and an excellent range of activities and trips.

From our ‘Sector Leading’ Nursery and Pre-School right through to Senior 6, Lomond School provides a nurturing environment for all our pupils, preparing them for life beyond school. A culture of hard work exists throughout the school and excellent academic achievement is supported by small class sizes, dedicated teaching staff, superb facilities and a significant emphasis on pupil happiness, health and wellbeing.

We offer an Armed Forces Families discount of 10% on day fees and 20% on boarding fees and are an approved Continuity of Education Allowance (CEA) establishment.
