Supporting our young people and their wellbeing

The current coronavirus pandemic is creating additional wellbeing challenges for our school community.

Because  regular face to face teaching ended so quickly, there continue to be uncertainties and concerns ahead, not least about exams and the way ahead for many of our pupils. We are delighted to make available the attached support leaflet developed by one of our parents.

The leaflet itself provides various useful suggestions concerning how young people can structure the day, and get the right balance of mental and physical wellbeing at this time. The leaflet also links to a widely used, evidence-based, online wellbeing course called Living Life to the Full for Young People.

A version of the course is being made available free of charge to all young people and their parents until June 30th. Once registered at any time before that date you have 3 months access to the course. Registration is easy via a link on the home page, and you can use the course resources in any way you want. We would encourage you to look at the optional modules as well as the main course.

If you prefer to read, there are numerous online books as well as worksheets you can complete online via your smartphone or computer. It’s your choice – dip in, or work through the resources as a larger course. It’s also free for use by other family members too.

We hope you and your family find this useful as we all try to find our ‘new normal’.
